SERVICEABILITY ISSUES

We have had questions from potential customers concerned about using the Universal Sure-Seal Clamp™ because of the possibility of not being able to remove the clamp for replacement.

Our question would be-are you replacing the clamp because of a leak caused by an inferior clamp, or are you replacing another exhaust system component?  When just the clamp is being replaced, 99% of the time, it is because the clamp itself has failed and not the other tube components. The Universal Sure-Seal Clamp™ would not need to be replaced because the clamp has failed. The Universal Sure-Seal Clamp™ will not fail!

The real serviceability issues come from the current band-style clamps that are in use. They fail either because of the vibration of the exhaust system causing the thin metal of the clamp to stretch and become loose on the connection or the clamp was predestined for a failure when it was installed.  It is most likely the piece of aluminum foil, tar strip or joint sealant that must to be used to seal these connections with this style clamp was not installed properly, thus causing the failure. With these "band-aid-style" clamps, most of your time and money servicing the exhaust system is really spent servicing the clamp.

If you are required to use some sort of joint sealant to seal the exhaust connection, it is inviting a joint failure and the potential for a leak. The clamp being used then becomes little more than a band-aid to seal the joint and not a true, functional clamp holding the joints together and creating a true mechanical seal.

Again, the need to replace the clamp versus working on a repair on the exhaust system failure becomes the real issue. If it is the exhaust system you are repairing, with the need to replace the system tubing, it does not matter if you can install another clamp over the connection without taking the joint apart.  If you are repairing and replacing the system tubing, you are going to have to take the joint apart. With the joint apart, the Universal Sure-Seal Clamp™ can then be installed without future issues of joint failure because of the clamp failure.  "Serviceability"-- the answer is clear.  Use the Universal Sure-Seal Clamp™.
