Universal Sure-Seal Exhaust Clamps™ are newly-developed clamps engineered for use on the exhaust systems of many gas or diesel powered engines--from heavy-duty trucks, high-performance automotive and off-road vehicles to school buses. the design of this clamp is recognized as a superior clamp product throughout the industry. Universal Sure-Seal Exhaust Clamps™ are currently being used in the automotive high-performance, heavy construction equipment and diesel generator industries. These highly- engineered (patent #5,829,107) clamps are specifically designed to form a complete and true 360° seal on all exhaust joints with no leaks, they are economically priced clamps designed to save you money. Universal Sure-Seal Exhaust Clamps™ are formed from a single piece of C1008 wire( 1/4" Ø or 5/l 6" Ø depending on the clamp size required) first bent 180° from the center then rolled into two cylindrical and symmetrical 360° parallel wire rings. These rings wrap around the exhaust joint equally distributing the clamping force between the rings thus minimizing any distortion of the exhaust members. At the open end of these rings, there is a welded clip that holds the two ends of the rings apart but in close proximity to each other. Through this clip passes the formed end of the rings and to which a formed C1541 Grade 5 stud bolt has been welded (3/8-16 or 7/16-14) depending on clamp size). The joint is then secured with a Grade 5 heavy-duty, all-metal locking flange nut which is also pre-installed on the clamp. This design allows the 180° end to slide over the exhaust members as it is tightened and also to slide between the two legs of the welded clip and rings forming a very secure, vibration proof Sure-Seal. Universal Sure-Seal Exhaust Clamps™ seal the joints keeping them from separating and preventing leaks, not just minimizing the leakage, as do many other style clamps. The exhaust joints stay sealed with a constant torque, even through all the motion and vibrations experienced in over-the-highway and off-road applications, for the life of the exhaust system. "Installation is made simple and fast!" Installation is simple and fast. Designed with a single bolt and pre-installed all metal locking flange nut, there is no fumbling with any hardware. Only 35 to 40 ft. pounds of torque is required to seal the connection in most installations (this may vary depending on material and thickness). The versatility designed into the Universal Sure-Seal Exhaust Clamp allows one size clamp to fit both flex tube to rigid tube and rigid tube to rigid tube applications. Keep your inventory at a minimum. Only one style clamp is required per size for both type exhaust joints. |
